Preparing for Your Treatment
If you’re interested in PRP therapy, the first step is to book a free consultation with one of our certified team members. We’ll discuss your aesthetic goals during your consultation and create a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
Once you’ve had your consultation, there’s no obligation to commit to the procedure. However, if you decide that PRP therapy suits your goals, we can get started on the same day of your consultation if you wish.
What to Expect During Your Treatment
Our PRP therapy process is simple.
Step One
After arriving at Aisthetikos, our nurse will draw a sample of your blood and concentrate the platelets in a centrifuge, a lab device that separates fluid components. Your platelets contain your body’s natural healing components.
Step Two
Your nurse will deliver a local anesthetic to the treatment area to make the process as comfortable as possible.
Step Three
After your anesthetic settles in, your nurse will reinject your platelets into your skin to stimulate healing in the treatment area using a tiny needle. The injection process feels similar to a bug bite and only takes about 10 minutes.
After Your Treatment
After your treatment, we’ll ask that you relax in our office for at least 30 minutes. After you leave Aisthetikos, we ask that you follow these general instructions:
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 3 days
- Avoid sun exposure and warm environments
- Increase your water intake for a week after your procedure
Side effects such as redness, itchiness, swelling, or soreness are normal and to be expected. These symptoms should resolve on their own.
You can expect to see results within 4–6 weeks. For maximum benefit, we recommend that you receive a minimum of 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart.
