THE MEANING BEHIND AISTHETIKOS

The word aesthetic comes from the Greek word ‘aisthētikos’. At the time, it was defined as ‘relating to perception by the senses’. This early form of the word was a combination of the Greek words ‘aisthēta’ meaning ‘perceptible things’, and ‘aisthesthai’ meaning ‘perceive’ or sense of perception.

Aesthetics refers to a branch of philosophy regarding the nature of art. A common question often asked by aestheticians throughout the study of the philosophy of aesthetics is: “What is meant when something is said to be beautiful?”

How to pronounce our name? “Ais-the-ti-kos”.

Ally is a naturalist and focuses on enhancing each client's natural beauty. With a background in emergency medicine spanning 12 years, Ally transitioned to medical aesthetics specializing in undetectable injectables and facial balancing, and has found purpose in promoting self care and empowerment. Ally is also one of 12 national trainers for Galderma.

Driven by a passion for beauty and self-expression, Kelsey began her nursing journey with one clear goal: to become a cosmetic injector. A long-time aesthetics client herself, she brings a unique perspective rooted in empathy, artistry, and attention to detail. As an apprentice under Ally’s mentorship, Kelsey is honing her skills in facial balancing and undetectable injectables. She believes in natural enhancements that elevate confidence and celebrate individuality. Kelsey is committed to continued learning, and creating a personalized experience for each guest.

A born-and-raised Calgarian, Dr. Kroeker completed medical school and his General Practice residency at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine. After a 10-year career in paramedicine, he became a physician and now practices rural and emergency medicine while serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary. Trained in facial ultrasound, he ensures patient safety always comes first.
